Installation:

The tools file (here) has to be stored in the "ImageJ/macros/toolset" repertory. After this, select "Scale Bar Tools for Microscopes" by clicking on the "toolsets" menu icon of the ImageJ tool bar.

The ImageJ tool bar aspect should be as showed below:

If ImageJ shows a message requiring a more recent version during the installation of the toolset, update ImageJ, using the "Help -> Update ImageJ..." menu, or replace manually the ij.jar file, available here.

It runs, either as an online applet or as a downloadable application, on any computer with a Java 1.1 or later virtual machine.
